His numerous masterpieces include the au/KDDI "INFOBAR," Maruni Wood Industry's "HIROSHIMA Armchair," B&B Italia's "Shelf X," MUJI's "Wall-Mounted CD Player," and ±0 (Plus Minus Zero) "Humidifier." He has received numerous awards, including the Isamu Noguchi Award, iF Design Award Gold Prize, DNA Paris Design Awards, Japan Good Design Gold Prize, and Collab Design Excellence Awards. He is a Royal Designer for Industry (Royal Society of Arts). Director of the Japan Folk Crafts Museum. Judging committee member for the Loewe Craft Prize. Founded "Super Normal" with Jasper Morrison in 2006. Founded THE DESIGN SCIENCE FOUNDATION in 2022 with the aim of exploring the connection between design and science. Vice President of Tama Art University.
